How This AX PRO Alarm System Works
The AX PRO alarm panel is the central hub of the system. It communicates wirelessly with the keypad, PIR sensors, video PIR sensors and sirens. Once installed and configured, the system can be armed or disarmed using the wireless keypad or through the Hik-Connect app.
When the system is armed, the PIR sensors monitor movement inside the protected areas. If movement is detected, the sensor sends an alarm signal back to the AX PRO panel. The panel can then trigger the indoor siren, outdoor siren and send a notification through the Hik-Connect app.
The two video PIR sensors add an extra layer of confirmation. When one of these sensors detects movement, it can capture visual verification clips or images so the user can see what caused the alarm. This is especially useful for checking whether the event was caused by a person, a pet, a false trigger or a genuine break-in.
Why Choose Video Verification PIRs?
Standard PIR sensors are excellent for detecting movement, but they do not show what caused the alarm. A video PIR combines motion detection with built-in visual verification, giving the user more context during an alarm event.
This is particularly useful for:
- Checking whether an alarm is real before calling someone out
- Reducing unnecessary panic from false alarms
- Protecting higher-risk areas such as entrances, hallways, offices or stock rooms
- Providing extra confidence when monitoring a site remotely
Recommended Sensor Layout
A common setup for this kit is to place the two video PIR sensors in the highest-priority areas, such as the main entry area, hallway, office, shopfront or stock room. The standard PIR can then be used in a secondary area where visual verification is less important.
This gives the system a good balance of coverage and visual confirmation without needing video PIRs in every room.
Wireless Keypad for Easy Daily Use
The included wireless keypad allows users to arm and disarm the system without needing to use the app every time. It is ideal for mounting near the main entry door, garage entry or staff entrance.
This makes the system easier to use for families, staff members or anyone who needs simple daily access control.
Indoor and Outdoor Siren Included
This kit includes both an indoor wireless sounder and a blue wireless outdoor sounder. The indoor siren helps alert people inside the property, while the outdoor sounder provides a visible and audible deterrent outside the building.
The outdoor sounder helps make the alarm system more obvious from the street, which can discourage intruders and alert neighbours or nearby staff during an alarm event.
App Control and Notifications
When connected to the Hik-Connect app, users can receive alarm notifications, arm and disarm the system remotely, and review video verification events from compatible PIR camera detectors.
This makes the system suitable for customers who want to monitor their home, office, shop, warehouse or small business while they are away.
