Farm Security Packages and Camera Plus Alarm Paths

This page is for the farm buyer who wants a practical answer by scenario. Not every farm needs the same pattern, and not every scene should use external alarm detection. The goal is to match the security package to the real farm problem.

Packages

AX Pro kit

Alarm base

AX Pro complete alarm kit is the cleaner starting point when the farm wants one proper wireless alarm branch.

AX Pro outdoor tritech

Approach detection

Outdoor tritech is useful when the approach is controlled and not full of livestock movement.

AX Pro outdoor reed

Opening-point logic

Outdoor reeds are often the strongest farm-security part because they protect the gate or door that really matters.

Package 1: House gate plus workshop

Use a camera on the gate for evidence and a fixed or deterrence camera on the workshop. Add AX Pro only if the workshop door or side approach really matters after hours and the scene is controlled enough to avoid nuisance triggers.

Package 2: Workshop plus fuel cage

This is one of the strongest camera-plus-alarm farm packages. Use cameras for the approach and handling area, then add AX Pro reeds and controlled external detection on the workshop or fuel-cage access points.

Package 3: Remote machinery shed

Start with a camera path first, especially if the shed is remote. If the building-side approach is predictable and not full of animal traffic, AX Pro can add value later. If the scene is open and livestock move through it, stay camera-led instead.

Package 4: Enclosed yard or side gate

This is often a better alarm scene than people expect. If the gate and approach are controlled, a camera plus a reed or controlled detector can work well. If stock are moving through it regularly, keep the alarm logic off that scene.

Reference layout: enclosed yard package

This layout works because it keeps detectors in a controlled farm scene and leaves the open stock areas to camera-only logic.

Biggest package mistake on farms

Do not treat open paddocks like enclosed compounds. A workshop apron, fuel cage or side gate can be a good alarm scene. A stock lane, feed point or trough area usually is not.
