Security equipment checklist
- Choose an AX PRO panic button path and test it from the resident's normal living areas.
- Decide whether image verification sensors are needed in hallway, entry or living zones.
- Choose HiLook camera locations for entries, driveway, garage and agreed shared areas.
- Choose a Hikvision intercom if door answering is a concern.

Non-product checklist
- Confirm medical alert or monitored personal alarm options if family response is not enough.
- Review fall risks: mats, lighting, stairs, bathroom rails, footwear and night paths.
- Agree a key access plan for trusted family, neighbours or emergency access.
- Write a response ladder: first contact, second contact, neighbour, emergency services.
- Review consent and privacy with the resident before installing any indoor camera.
Utilities and account checklist
- Electricity is on direct debit or monitored by a family email so the system does not lose power because of a missed bill.
- Internet remains active even if the resident does not personally use it.
- Internet and electricity billing emails are checked by someone reliable.
- Router, NVR and alarm power points are labelled and should not be switched off.
- App administrator, recovery email, passwords and family phone numbers are documented.
- Family knows what works, and what stops working, during internet or power outages.
Room-by-room checklist
| Area | Security question | Care question |
|---|---|---|
| Front door | Can the resident see and speak to visitors without rushing? | Is there a safe parcel and visitor routine? |
| Bedroom | Is a panic button reachable from bed? | Is the night path clear and well lit? |
| Living room | Is there a reachable panic button or agreed shared-area view? | Does the resident spend long periods here? |
| Kitchen | Is there a way to call for help nearby? | Are mats, cords and lighting creating trip risk? |
| Bathroom approach | Can help be called from nearby without placing cameras in private areas? | Are rails, non-slip surfaces or OT advice needed? |
| Driveway and side access | Can family review arrivals, strangers or night activity? | Is the resident likely to walk outside alone? |
Best quote brief
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| What are we most worried about? | Falls, intrusion, door answering and wandering require different design choices. |
| Who receives alerts? | An alert is only useful if someone can act. |
| What spaces are off limits? | Privacy boundaries should be agreed before installation. |
| What happens if the resident does not answer? | This is the real response workflow. |
