Key Capabilities

Off-grid solar power for remote devices
The VIGI SP6030 is built to power IP cameras and other compatible low-voltage equipment where mains power is not present or practical to install. With a 60 W photovoltaic panel and 31.2 Ah lithium battery, it provides a stable DC supply suitable for security cameras, gateways or similar loads. This makes it ideal for farms, rural driveways, perimeter locations, small infrastructure sites or temporary projects where trenching and fixed wiring would be expensive, disruptive or simply not possible.

Intelligent lithium battery with auxiliary heating
At the heart of the VIGI SP6030 is a 31.2 Ah 10.8 V lithium battery, designed for more than 500 charge cycles. Intelligent auxiliary heating technology allows safe charging and discharging across a wide temperature range, protecting the battery in colder environments and helping to maintain capacity over time. This combination supports reliable overnight runtime and improved resilience when the weather turns harsh, which is critical for continuous operation of security devices in Australian outdoor conditions.

Flexible panel angle adjustment for better yield
The manual angle adjustment range of 5°/15°/25°/35°/45°/55° lets installers optimise panel tilt for local latitude, season and mounting position. By correctly setting the angle, the SP6030 can capture more sunlight throughout the day and across different times of year, increasing charging efficiency. This improved energy harvest directly benefits runtime on cloudy days and supports better performance in challenging weather, helping to keep connected devices powered when they are most needed.

Multiple outputs and hardware interfaces
The VIGI SP6030 offers a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 interface, a dedicated photovoltaic panel connector and three 5.5 mm DC power plugs (two rated 9–12.6 V DC/2 A and one rated 12 V DC/2 A). This hardware design makes it straightforward to connect a primary camera and additional low-voltage devices, while the integrated LEDs provide at-a-glance status indications for system, LAN, PV and battery. The result is a practical, installer-friendly platform that keeps wiring tidy and simplifies maintenance and troubleshooting on site.

Smart management and protection features
Advanced software features include load control, high and low temperature protection, overdischarge protection, power consumption statistics and real-time load and battery level display. Time zone and region selection, schedule saving, firmware remote update, remote reboot, local LAN management, web management, remote reset and remote message push are all supported. Together, these capabilities allow users and integrators to monitor system health, optimise performance and respond quickly to issues without frequent site visits, improving overall reliability and reducing operating costs.

Key Features

  • 60 W photovoltaic panel with compact footprint: The SP6030 uses a 60 W solar panel with dimensions of approximately 690 × 516 × 30 mm, providing a good balance between power output and physical size. This makes it easier to mount on poles, posts or smaller structures while still generating enough energy for a typical single-camera installation. The panel is engineered to operate efficiently with the matched battery and controller, ensuring consistent performance in a wide range of lighting conditions.

  • 31.2 Ah 10.8 V lithium battery for reliable storage: A high-capacity 31.2 Ah lithium battery at 10.8 V provides substantial energy storage, supporting extended runtime during nights and low-sunlight periods. With a life rating of more than 500 cycles and intelligent auxiliary heating, the battery is designed to deliver dependable performance over time. This helps maintain surveillance continuity during seasonal changes, colder weather and periods of higher-than-normal camera activity.

  • Optimised runtime and charging performance: Under modelled conditions, the SP6030 offers indicative working hours of around 6.4 consecutive rainy days and on-load charge time of approximately 2.7 sunny days from 0% to 100% under load† ‡. These figures are based on laboratory simulations and meteorological data and are intended as a guide for network and system design. Actual results will vary with region, season, load power, installation angle and shading, so real-world measurements should always be used when fine-tuning deployments.

  • Manual angle adjustment from 5° to 55°: The adjustable bracket with 5°/15°/25°/35°/45°/55° settings gives installers the flexibility to tailor the panel’s tilt to local sun paths. This is valuable when installing on surfaces that are not ideally oriented or when seasonal adjustments are desired. Better alignment with the sun increases daily energy harvest, improving battery charge levels and helping to support connected cameras through periods of adverse weather.

  • Comprehensive software and safety protections: Built-in software features such as load control, high/low temperature protection, overdischarge protection and smart charging control safeguard both the battery and connected devices. Additional capabilities including power consumption statistics, real-time status display, firmware remote update, remote reboot and remote message push give operators powerful tools to manage the system proactively. This reduces the likelihood of unexpected outages and minimises time spent on manual diagnostics.

  • IP66 weatherproof design with certified compliance: The SP6030 carries certifications including CB, PSE (battery), CE, FCC, VCCI, IC and IP66, demonstrating that it has been tested for safety, EMC and environmental protection. The weather-sealed housing and connectors are designed to withstand dust, rain and wind-driven spray, making the system suitable for demanding outdoor installations. This robustness is especially important when the unit is deployed in exposed rural, coastal or industrial locations where service access may be limited.

  • Recommended pairing with VIGI C540-4G camera: While the VIGI SP6030 is sold as a standalone solar power system, it is an excellent power companion for TP-Link VIGI 4G cameras such as the VIGI C540-4G. When paired with a suitable 4G camera, the SP6030 enables fully off-grid video surveillance with smart detection and remote access, making it a flexible building block for a wide variety of professional security deployments.

FAQs

  1. Does the VIGI SP6030 include a camera in the box?
No. The TP-Link VIGI SP6030 is supplied as a standalone intelligent solar power supply system, consisting of the panel, battery, controller and related accessories. It is designed to power compatible low-voltage cameras and devices, and TP-Link recommends pairing it with models such as the VIGI C540-4G for off-grid surveillance. When planning your installation, you will choose and purchase the camera separately to match your field-of-view and feature requirements.
  2. How accurate are the stated working hours and charging days?
The indicative working hours on consecutive rainy days (around 6.4 days) and on-load charge time on sunny days (around 2.7 days) are based on TP-Link laboratory testing and public meteorological data using model simulations. They are intended only as a reference when considering network and system design. Real-world performance will vary depending on region, seasonal climate, installation angle, shading, actual device power consumption and other factors, so on-site testing and monitoring should always be used to verify final behaviour.
  3. Can I power more than one device from the SP6030?
The SP6030 provides three DC power outputs, so in principle you can power more than one low-voltage device, provided the combined load remains within the rated voltage and current limits. Many installations dedicate most of the available capacity to a single IP camera, but you may be able to add a small extra device such as a communication unit or sensor. Always calculate the total power draw carefully and allow margin for peak usage, night-time operation and adverse weather to maintain reliable performance.
  4. Is professional installation required for the SP6030?
While technically confident users may be able to install the VIGI SP6030 themselves, professional installation is strongly recommended, especially for pole or roof-mounted deployments. A qualified installer can ensure that the panel is securely fixed, correctly angled and free from shading, that all cable penetrations and connectors are properly weatherproofed, and that the system is wired safely to your chosen camera or device. This not only improves safety but also helps maximise energy harvest and long-term reliability.
