Dahua Full-Colour Dual Light cameras use infrared plus a white spotlight so night video can stay in colour when the light is on. This is Dual Light / spotlight night imaging — not WizColor 24/7 colour, and not a TIOC deterrence camera unless the SKU also says TIOC. Colour at night is the category, so that filter is not used here. Remaining choices are 6MP or 8MP, a built-in microphone, and strobe on selected models. TIOC cameras that also use Dual Light belong in the TIOC aisle when deterrence is the buying reason.

About Dahua Full-Colour Dual Light Cameras

Full-Colour Dual Light is Dahua’s IR-plus-white-light night camera family. Supported models can keep infrared for a darker scene, then use a spotlight for colour detail on people, clothing and vehicles. That is a lighting behaviour, not WizColor, which is specified for 24/7 colour with a high-sensitivity sensor.

This category is already a colour-at-night aisle, so a colour-night shortcut would not narrow anything useful. Compare 6MP and 8MP, whether a microphone is fitted, and whether a strobe is listed — strobe is not Dual Light by default. TIOC cameras that also use Dual Light sit in the TIOC category when deterrence is the buying reason.

Dual Light capabilities

  • IR + white light: Dual Light cameras can illuminate in infrared and switch to a spotlight for colour when the scene or an event needs it.
  • Colour after dark: White light helps retain clothing and vehicle colour that black-and-white IR can lose.
  • Resolution: 6MP and 8MP are the usual options. Match recorder bandwidth, especially at 8MP.
  • Housing mix: Eyeball and bullet Dual Light cameras are common. Check the mount, not only the lighting name.
  • Selected extras: A microphone or strobe appears on some SKUs only. Dual Light does not mean TIOC.

Dual Light vs other Dahua night tech

  • Not WizColor: WizColor is a 24/7 colour-sensor family. Dual Light relies on IR and a spotlight. Shop WizColor if you want colour without depending on a white light.
  • Not automatically TIOC: TIOC adds strobe and two-way audio as the product idea. A Dual Light camera may be silent.
  • Light spill: A spotlight can bother neighbours. Confirm whether the camera stays in IR until an event, and where it is aimed.
  • Ambient light: Street lighting can reduce how often the spotlight needs to fire. It can also cause glare if aimed poorly.
  • Recorder: Use a compatible Dahua NVR. Illumination modes still depend on camera firmware and the app/NVR controls available.

Choosing the Right Dual Light Camera

Use Dual Light when you want colour at night and can accept a spotlight. If you need colour with less white light, compare WizColor. If you need a strobe and talk-down, compare TIOC. Then pick 6MP or 8MP, housing for the mount, and whether a microphone is required. Confirm aiming so the spotlight does not flood a neighbour’s window.

What is Dahua Full-Colour Dual Light?

Dual Light cameras combine infrared illumination with a white spotlight. Supported models can show colour at night when the white light is on, instead of staying in black-and-white IR. It is a night-lighting design, not a complete analytics package and not the same as WizColor 24/7 colour imaging.

How is Dual Light different from WizColor?

WizColor cameras are specified to keep colour around the clock using a high-sensitivity sensor. Dual Light cameras use IR and a spotlight — colour depends on that white light (and any ambient light). If a visible spotlight is a problem, WizColor is the category to compare. If you want IR-quiet scenes until an event, Dual Light is usually the closer match.

Do Dual Light cameras include TIOC strobe and two-way audio?

Not by default. Dual Light is illumination. TIOC is 3-in-1 deterrence. Some products combine them; many Dual Light cameras do not. Use the strobe shortcut only if you need a warning light on a Dual Light body, or shop TIOC when deterrence is the reason to buy.

Why is there no Colour at Night shortcut?

This entire category is merchandised as full-colour Dual Light. A colour-night filter would not separate useful remaining products. The shortcuts that still vary are 6MP, 8MP, built-in microphone and strobe.

Which Dual Light resolution should I choose?

6MP suits most house and shop distances if the lens is right. 8MP can add detail at longer views when lighting and the recorder support it. Confirm NVR incoming bitrate before you specify several 8MP Dual Light cameras on a small recorder.

Can Dual Light cameras record on a Dahua NVR?
