What does this license actually unlock on Hik-Connect?

The HC-T&HCC-Video/1CH/1Y license activates Team Mode for 1 video channel within the Hik-Connect platform. Team Mode allows the device to be shared across multiple users in an organisation with role-based access controls, replacing the single-user personal account structure that Hik-Connect uses by default.

How many licenses do I need for a 16-camera system?

You need 1 license per channel. For a 16-camera deployment where all channels require Team Mode access, you would need 16 HC-T&HCC-Video/1CH/1Y licenses. You can license only the channels that require multi-user access if not all cameras need to be shared across the team.

Does this license include cloud storage for recordings?

No. This license covers Team Mode access to the video channel only, including live view, playback from the device's own storage, and event notifications. Cloud-based event recording storage is a separate Hik-Connect Team Mode subscription and is not included with this license.

What happens when the 1-year subscription expires?

When the subscription period ends, the affected channels revert from Team Mode back to standard personal account behaviour, and multi-user access for those channels will no longer function. Renewal is required before expiry to maintain uninterrupted Team Mode access for the licensed channels.

Is this license compatible with all Hikvision cameras?

The license applies to Hikvision devices that are registered and managed within the Hik-Connect platform. Devices must be compatible with Hik-Connect and operating on firmware that supports Team Mode. If you are unsure whether your existing devices support Team Mode, the team at Security Wholesalers can help confirm compatibility before you purchase.

Can I use this license to give a client access to their own system after installation?

Yes. Security integrators commonly use Team Mode licensing to structure client access so that end users can view and manage their own licensed channels through Hik-Connect without requiring the installer's account credentials. Role-based permissions allow the integrator to define what each team member can see or configure.
