Product Overview

Combining active deterrence with AcuSense Gen2 deep-learning analytics, the DS-2CD2066G2H-I2U/SL delivers 6MP outdoor bullet coverage built for commercial perimeters, loading docks, and retail storefronts where visible response to intrusion matters as much as image quality. Featuring a DarkFighter sensor rated down to 0.001 Lux, the camera maintains colour imaging in near-darkness and switches to 40m IR when light drops to zero. The integrated white strobe and 110dB audible siren trigger automatically on confirmed human or vehicle detection, issuing an on-site warning before an incident escalates. Built with a confirmed built-in microphone and speaker, it supports two-way audio through compatible Hikvision recorders or the Hik-Connect app. The 2.8mm fixed lens covers a wide 115-degree horizontal field of view, making it suited to fence lines, building corners, and entry points where broad frontal coverage is the priority. IP67-rated and rated from -30 degrees C to +60 degrees C, the black housing is built for year-round Australian outdoor conditions.

Key Capabilities

AcuSense Gen2 Human and Vehicle Classification

Deep-learning algorithms classify detected objects as humans or vehicles, filtering out irrelevant triggers such as wind, foliage, or passing animals. This significantly reduces nuisance alerts on busy outdoor perimeters and ensures that strobe and siren activations are tied to genuine intrusion events.

Integrated Strobe and 110dB Audible Alarm

The built-in white strobe light and loudspeaker activate automatically on confirmed intrusion detection, delivering an immediate on-site deterrent. Activation schedules, volume, and custom audio messages are configurable through the web interface or Hik-Connect app to suit different site requirements.

DarkFighter Low-Light Imaging

The 1/2.4-inch DarkFighter CMOS sensor captures colour video at illumination as low as 0.001 Lux, maintaining useful colour detail in dimly lit yards, car parks, and poorly lit corridors. When light drops to zero, the camera switches to IR mode with a 40m range for clear black-and-white footage.

Two-Way Audio via Built-In Mic and Speaker

With both a built-in microphone and speaker confirmed, the DS-2CD2066G2H-I2U/SL supports live two-way voice communication through compatible Hikvision NVRs or the Hik-Connect app. This allows operators to address a situation directly from a remote location without dispatching staff.

120dB Wide Dynamic Range

The 120dB WDR engine handles high-contrast scenes such as sun-facing entrances, gated driveways, and loading dock openings where headlights or direct sunlight would otherwise wash out image detail. Faces and licence plates remain legible across a wide brightness range within the 2.8mm field of view.

IP67 Outdoor Housing with Extended Temperature Range

The fully sealed IP67 enclosure protects against dust and sustained water ingress, making it suitable for rain-exposed positions on building exteriors, fence posts, and under eaves. The -30 degrees C to +60 degrees C operating range accommodates both the heat of Australian summers and cold overnight conditions in southern states.

Best For

  • Commercial Perimeter Monitoring: The bullet housing mounts directly to walls, poles, and fence lines for directional coverage of building approaches, with AcuSense detection triggering the strobe and siren on confirmed human or vehicle intrusion.
  • Retail and Hospitality Storefronts: After-hours deterrence is provided by the audible alarm and strobe activation, while two-way audio allows staff or operators to speak directly to individuals at the premises entrance during monitored hours.
  • Loading Docks and Warehouse Entries: The 2.8mm wide-angle lens captures the full width of a dock opening or roller door entry, and DarkFighter low-light performance maintains usable video during early morning or overnight shifts when lighting levels are inconsistent.
  • Remote or Unmanned Sites: Local microSD storage up to 512GB combined with ONVIF compatibility and cloud access via Hik-Connect provides continuous recording and remote event notification even where a local NVR is not present at the site.

Why Choose the DS-2CD2066G2H-I2U/SL

What separates the DS-2CD2066G2H-I2U/SL from a standard IP bullet camera is the combination of AcuSense Gen2 classification, an integrated white strobe, a 110dB audible siren, and confirmed two-way audio in a single IP67-rated housing. A basic 6MP bullet can capture an event after it has occurred. This model is designed to interrupt and deter the event as it happens, without requiring operator intervention. The DarkFighter sensor at 0.001 Lux delivers low-light colour performance well beyond standard CMOS sensors, and the 120dB WDR handles the harsh backlight conditions common on Australian commercial sites. Face capture and perimeter protection analytics including line crossing and region entrance and exit detection add further intelligence beyond simple motion-based triggers. Available through Security Wholesalers, the DS-2CD2066G2H-I2U/SL is suited to installers and integrators who need an active deterrence solution in a compact, field-ready outdoor housing.

Buyer Decision Tips

Fixed 2.8mm Lens and Field of View: This SKU uses a fixed 2.8mm lens with a 115-degree horizontal field of view, which suits wide frontal coverage of building entrances, fence lines, and dock openings. At the 2.8mm focal length, the DORI recognise distance is 12m and the identify distance is 6m, so for positions where facial or licence plate identification beyond 10m is the primary requirement, a longer focal length would provide better detail at distance. If the mounting point is within 10m of the area being monitored, this model’s wide coverage is an advantage.

Strobe Variant Selection: This model is the S(L) white strobe variant. A separate RB variant with red and blue alternating strobes is also available and may be better suited to highly visible deterrence at shopfronts or high-traffic entry points. Confirm with your client whether a white strobe or a red and blue strobe better matches the intended use and any local council or strata restrictions on visible warning lights.

Ideal Use Cases

Warehouse and Industrial Yard Perimeters

The bullet housing mounts directly to exterior walls or poles to cover fence lines and loading approaches. AcuSense classification triggers the 110dB siren and strobe only on confirmed human or vehicle detection, making it effective for large yards where environmental triggers are common.

Retail Storefronts and After-Hours Deterrence

The white strobe and audible alarm provide an immediate on-site response to after-hours intrusion attempts. Two-way audio allows a monitoring centre or business owner to speak directly to individuals at the shopfront without requiring a physical presence on site.

Driveways and Gated Entries

The 2.8mm wide-angle field of view captures the full width of a driveway or entry gate opening in a single frame. The 120dB WDR handles the direct sunlight and headlight glare common at entry points, maintaining usable image detail across changing light conditions throughout the day.

Construction Sites and Temporary Installations

MicroSD storage up to 512GB supports standalone recording without a permanent NVR, and PoE power simplifies cabling to a single Cat5e or Cat6 run. The IP67 housing and extended temperature range handle the exposed conditions typical of active construction environments.

Remote or Unstaffed Commercial Sites

ONVIF S/T/G compatibility and Hik-Connect cloud access allow remote video review and event notification without requiring a local operator. Face capture and perimeter protection analytics generate specific event types that can be routed to mobile alerts for unmanned site management.

Choosing the Right Model

  • Choose this model if: You need active deterrence with a strobe and audible alarm at a commercial outdoor position, require AcuSense Gen2 human and vehicle classification to reduce nuisance alerts, and want two-way audio capability in a single IP67 bullet housing. The 2.8mm lens suits wide frontal coverage at mounting distances of 3m to 8m from the monitored zone.
  • Choose a different model if: Your priority is identifying individuals or licence plates at distances beyond 15m, in which case a longer fixed focal length or a motorised varifocal bullet camera would provide better detail at range. If active deterrence is not required and budget is the primary consideration, a standard AcuSense bullet without strobe and siren hardware would cover the detection and classification function at a lower cost.

FAQs

  1. What is the difference between the S(L) and RB variants of this camera?
The S(L) variant fitted to this SKU uses a white strobe light for visual deterrence. The RB variant uses alternating red and blue strobes, which are more visually prominent and suited to high-traffic shopfronts or zones where maximum visibility of the deterrence response is the priority. Both variants share identical imaging hardware, AcuSense analytics, and audio specifications.
  2. Does this camera have genuine two-way audio, or just a microphone?
The DS-2CD2066G2H-I2U/SL has both a confirmed built-in microphone and a built-in speaker, making it capable of live two-way audio communication. This allows an operator or monitoring centre to hear audio at the camera location and speak back in real time through a compatible Hikvision NVR or the Hik-Connect app. This is not a single-direction audio input only.
  3. How far does the 2.8mm lens cover, and is it suitable for licence plate capture?
With the 2.8mm lens, the DORI recognise distance is 12m and the identify distance is 6m. The lens covers a 115-degree horizontal field of view, which is useful for capturing the full width of an entry point or driveway. For licence plate identification, the camera needs to be positioned within approximately 6m of the target area. For longer identification distances, a narrower fixed focal length would be more appropriate for this site layout.
  4. Can the strobe and siren be scheduled to avoid activating at certain times?
Yes. Activation times, siren volume, strobe brightness, and custom audio warning messages can all be configured through the camera’s web interface or via the Hik-Connect app. This allows the deterrence response to be active only during after-hours periods if required, preventing the alarm from triggering during normal business operating hours when staff are present.
  5. What happens to recordings if the network connection drops?
The camera supports local microSD storage up to 512GB, which operates independently of the network connection. It also supports NFS and SMB/CIFS network storage protocols for NAS-based recording. If the primary NVR or network link is lost, the camera continues writing locally to the microSD card, ensuring footage from the affected period is preserved for later review.
  6. Is this camera compatible with third-party NVRs?
The DS-2CD2066G2H-I2U/SL supports ONVIF Profiles S, T, and G, enabling integration with a wide range of third-party NVR platforms. Standard video streaming and motion event functions will work across compatible recorders. Note that AcuSense analytics, strobe and siren linkage configuration, and two-way audio functions are fully accessible through Hikvision recorders and the Hik-Connect platform. This camera is part of the Security Wholesalers range and is supplied with full Hikvision documentation for integration planning.
