Product Overview

For property owners and installers wanting a complete, ready-to-deploy surveillance solution, this Dahua 4-camera 6MP WizSense Turret Kit pairs four DH-IPC-HDW3666EMP-S-AUS turret cameras with a 4-channel AI NVR and a pre-installed 2TB surveillance hard drive. Featuring 6MP resolution at 3072×1728, a 2.8mm fixed lens with a 101° horizontal field of view, and up to 50 metres of Smart IR night vision, each turret camera is built for eave, soffit, and wall mounting across residential and light commercial sites. Equipped with Dahua SMD 4.0 AI running directly on each camera, the system classifies detected shapes as human or vehicle before triggering a notification, cutting the false alerts that render basic motion detection practically unusable. It also includes a built-in microphone on every camera for audio-alongside-video recording. With the 4-channel DHI-NVR4104HS-P-AI/ANZ powering all cameras via PoE and the 2TB hard drive pre-fitted, the system records from the moment it is powered on.

Key Capabilities

6MP Resolution with Wide Coverage

At 3072×1728, each camera captures fine scene detail that holds up under digital zoom, useful for identifying faces and number plates from a single wide-angle frame. The 2.8mm fixed lens covers a 101° horizontal field, meaning each camera works hard across broad driveways, car parks, and open yard areas.

SMD 4.0 AI On-Camera Classification

Dahua’s fourth-generation Smart Motion Detection runs an AI model on each camera to identify human and vehicle shapes specifically, not just any frame-level movement. Swaying trees, rain, and passing headlights no longer trigger notifications, making every push alert one worth acting on.

50m Smart IR Night Vision

Infrared LEDs reach up to 50 metres in complete darkness. Smart IR adjusts LED intensity dynamically based on subject distance, preventing overexposure of close subjects and ensuring detail is retained across the full IR range, from the camera mount down a long driveway or across a large open yard.

Built-in Microphone on All 4 Cameras

Each camera includes an integrated microphone that records audio alongside video to the NVR. This adds contextual evidence – conversations, alarms, and ambient sounds – that video alone cannot capture, and it is a feature frequently absent from entry-level kit cameras at this price range.

PoE NVR – Single Cable per Camera

The included DHI-NVR4104HS-P-AI/ANZ delivers power and data to each camera over a single Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable. There are no separate power supplies to run at each camera location, simplifying installation through walls and ceilings and reducing cabling time on site considerably.

Pre-installed 2TB Surveillance Storage

The 2TB surveillance-grade hard drive ships already fitted inside the NVR. There is nothing extra to purchase or install before the system starts recording. Combined with H.265 compression, the drive typically holds several weeks of footage from all 4 cameras before overwriting the oldest files.

Best For

  • Residential Home Perimeter: 4 cameras cover the front, rear, and both sides of a standard suburban home in a single purchase, with SMD 4.0 keeping overnight alerts manageable rather than constant.
  • Small Business and Retail Premises: Simultaneous coverage of entry points, stock areas, and car parks with audio recording on each camera supports both loss prevention and staff safety documentation.
  • Rental and Investment Properties: The self-contained kit format and DMSS remote app viewing allow landlords to monitor and manage multiple sites from a single smartphone without requiring on-site visits.
  • Light Industrial and Warehouse Sites: IP67-rated cameras and 50m IR coverage suit partially exposed environments including loading docks, outdoor storage yards, and open-span warehouse interiors.
  • DIY and First-Time Installers: Bundled cameras, NVR, and pre-installed HDD eliminate component sourcing and compatibility guesswork, delivering a verified, ready-to-run system in one purchase.

Why Choose the Dahua 4-Camera 6MP SMD 4.0 Turret Kit

Most budget surveillance kits cut costs in predictable ways: lower resolution, basic pixel-change motion detection, or no included storage. This Dahua WizSense kit takes a different approach by building fourth-generation AI classification directly into each camera, so the DH-IPC-HDW3666EMP-S-AUS units are not simply recording movement but actively distinguishing humans and vehicles from everything else before an alert fires. That distinction matters in practice – properties in busy streets or near vegetation can receive dozens of nuisance alerts per night from a basic kit, while SMD 4.0 narrows that to genuinely relevant events. The built-in microphone on every camera adds audio evidence that simpler kits in this category typically omit entirely. With a 4K-output AI NVR, pre-installed 2TB storage, and DMSS remote access, the system is ready to record on the day of installation with no additional hardware costs. Available through Security Wholesalers with Australian stock, the kit is backed by local product availability for both initial purchase and any future component additions or replacements.

Buyer Decision Tips

Buyer Tip: The DHI-NVR4104HS-P-AI/ANZ has 4 PoE ports and supports exactly 4 channels, meaning the NVR is at full capacity straight out of the box with this kit. If your property has more than 4 entry points, or you plan to add cameras to a garage, secondary outbuilding, or additional driveway later, factor your total camera count into the decision before purchasing. Expanding beyond 4 cameras requires upgrading to an 8-channel or larger WizSense NVR, which adds cost if not planned from the start.

Buyer Tip: The 2.8mm fixed lens delivers a wide 101° horizontal field of view, which suits open areas, wide driveways, and large rooms. If your site requires watching a narrow lane, long straight corridor, or a distant entry point beyond 15 to 20 metres where face detail is a priority, consider whether a tighter focal length would better match your layout. Fixed focal length cannot be adjusted after installation, so confirm your coverage requirements before committing to this kit.

Ideal Use Cases

Residential Home Perimeter

4 cameras cover the front, rear, and both sides of a standard suburban home in a single kit purchase. SMD 4.0 AI filtering keeps overnight push notifications meaningful without waking owners for every animal or gust of wind that crosses the frame.

Small Retail and Office Premises

Monitor entry doors, stockrooms, and car parks simultaneously. The built-in microphone on each camera captures audio that supports loss prevention investigations and staff safety documentation in ways that video-only cameras cannot.

Rental and Investment Properties

Remote viewing via the DMSS app allows property managers to check in from anywhere without attending site. The self-contained kit format with pre-installed storage simplifies reinstallation and handover between tenancies.

Warehouses and Storage Yards

The 50m IR range and IP67 weatherproof rating suit large open interiors, loading docks, and outdoor storage areas. Vehicle classification alerts can flag unauthorised after-hours access accurately across wide open spaces.

Schools and Community Facilities

Wide 101° horizontal coverage suits playgrounds, corridors, and drop-off zones. Vehicle detection alerts flag after-hours activity around gates and entry points without generating constant false positives from surrounding street traffic.

Construction Sites

IP67-rated turret cameras withstand dust and moisture on active job sites. The 50m IR range covers large open areas after hours, recording unauthorised access and equipment interference throughout the night in all weather conditions.

Choosing the Right Model

  • Choose this model if: You need a complete 4-camera 6MP system with AI-powered human and vehicle detection, built-in audio recording on every camera, and a pre-installed 2TB hard drive that is ready to deploy straight out of the box without any additional hardware purchases.
  • Choose a different model if: Your site requires more than 4 cameras, varifocal lenses for long-distance scene detail, colour night vision without infrared, or an NVR with spare channels for future expansion. In those cases, an 8-channel WizSense kit or a separately configured camera and recorder combination would better suit your requirements.

FAQs

  1. Does this kit include everything needed to start recording straight away?
Yes. The kit includes 4 x DH-IPC-HDW3666EMP-S-AUS cameras, the DHI-NVR4104HS-P-AI/ANZ NVR, and a pre-installed 2TB surveillance hard drive. You will need Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable to connect each camera to the NVR, and a monitor or television for on-site playback. Remote viewing via the DMSS app is available immediately once the NVR is connected to your router.
  2. What does SMD 4.0 actually do compared to standard motion detection?
Standard motion detection triggers on any pixel change in the frame, including wind, rain, car headlights, and shadows. SMD 4.0 runs an AI classification model directly on each camera to identify detected shapes as human or vehicle before sending a notification. The result is significantly fewer false alerts and push notifications that are genuinely worth checking, rather than dozens of irrelevant triggers per night.
  3. Can I add more cameras to this system after purchase?
The NVR has 4 PoE ports and supports 4 channels, so the system is at full capacity with this kit as supplied. Adding more cameras requires upgrading to an 8-channel or larger Dahua WizSense NVR. If you anticipate needing additional cameras in the future, planning your total camera count before purchasing avoids the cost of replacing the NVR later.
  4. Are these cameras suitable for outdoor installation in Australian conditions?
Yes. Each DH-IPC-HDW3666EMP-S-AUS carries an IP67 weatherproof rating, providing full protection against dust ingress and tolerance of temporary water immersion. This makes the turret cameras suitable for exposed eave, fence, and carport mounting across all Australian climates, including coastal and tropical environments with high humidity and heavy rainfall.
  5. How long will 2TB of storage last with 4 cameras recording continuously?
Storage duration depends on resolution, frame rate, compression, and scene complexity. With 4 cameras recording at 6MP using H.265 compression, a 2TB drive typically delivers between two and four weeks of continuous footage. Switching to motion-triggered recording rather than continuous recording extends this duration considerably, as cameras only write to the drive when activity is detected.
  6. Do the cameras record audio, and what should I know about that in Australia?
Each camera includes a built-in microphone and records audio alongside video to the NVR. Australian surveillance laws vary by state, and audio recording is generally subject to stricter requirements than video. Recording audio in private spaces or without the knowledge of those being recorded may be restricted or prohibited depending on your state legislation. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with the applicable laws in your state before enabling audio recording.
  7. What Ethernet cable do I need to connect the cameras to the NVR?
Cat5e is the minimum requirement for reliable PoE data and power delivery. Cat6 is recommended for new installations, as it provides additional headroom for interference rejection over longer cable runs and supports future hardware upgrades without rewiring. Each camera requires a single Ethernet cable run back to the NVR, with a maximum PoE distance of 100 metres per run.
  8. Where can I buy replacement cameras or add components to this kit?
Security Wholesalers stocks the individual DH-IPC-HDW3666EMP-S-AUS cameras, compatible Dahua WizSense NVRs, surveillance hard drives, and installation accessories, making it straightforward to replace a camera, add storage, or source cabling for this system without sourcing parts from multiple separate suppliers.

Cabling Considerations

  • Cable Type: Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable is required to connect each camera to the NVR. Cat6 is recommended for new installations to reduce interference on longer runs and provide capacity for future hardware upgrades without rewiring.
  • Maximum Cable Run: Maximum PoE distance is 100 metres per camera run from NVR to camera. Plan camera positions and cable routes before installation to ensure all runs stay within this limit for stable power delivery and reliable network performance.
  • PoE Considerations: All 4 cameras are powered directly by the NVR’s built-in PoE ports over the same Ethernet cable used for video data, eliminating the need for separate power supplies at each camera location. Confirm total cable run lengths during site planning to avoid power instability on runs approaching the 100-metre limit.
  • Wiring Tips: Route cables through walls, ceilings, or conduit before fixing cameras in position to keep the installation tidy and cables protected from damage. For any exposed external cable runs, use outdoor-rated Ethernet cable rated for UV exposure to prevent sheathing degradation over time in direct sunlight or wet environments.
