Quick Feature Highlights: Two-Way Audio & I/O Expansion | Portcast Technology | No Extra IP Address Required | Single Audio/Video Stream | Plug-and-Play Installation | Compatible With Selected Axis Cameras
The AXIS T6101 Mk II Audio and I/O Interface is designed to add audio and digital input/output functionality to compatible Axis network cameras. Using Axis portcast technology, it transfers audio and I/O digitally over the network cable between the camera and the interface, helping create a cleaner and more integrated surveillance solution.
The AXIS T6101 Mk II Audio and I/O Interface is a compact system device that allows compatible Axis cameras to be expanded with two-way audio and digital input/output functionality. It is ideal for installations where a camera needs to support microphones, speakers, sensors, detectors, alarm triggers, or other external devices without adding a separate network device to the system.
Using Axis portcast technology, the T6101 Mk II allows audio and I/O data to be transferred digitally over the network cable between the camera and the interface. This means the audio and video can be handled as one stream, helping simplify recording, live monitoring, and VMS integration.
Add Audio Functionality to Compatible Axis Cameras
The AXIS T6101 Mk II can be used to add audio capability to selected Axis cameras. This can support use cases such as audio recording, live listening, audio analytics, or connecting an external speaker to play audio clips or announcements. For security applications, this can be useful where operators need more situational awareness than video alone can provide.
Digital Input and Output for Alarm Integration
With digital I/O support, the interface can connect external sensors, detectors, buttons, or other devices that can trigger actions in the surveillance system. This makes it suitable for applications such as door contacts, PIR sensors, alarm triggers, event-based recording, or activating external responses from the camera system.
No Additional IP Address or VMS Licence Required
One of the major advantages of the AXIS T6101 Mk II is that it integrates through the compatible Axis camera rather than operating as a separate network endpoint. Axis states that it does not require an additional IP address or additional VMS licence, which can help simplify system design and reduce ongoing licence complexity.
Plug-and-Play Installation
The T6101 Mk II is designed for straightforward installation using a single Ethernet cable between the camera and the switch. Once connected to a compatible Axis camera, it provides a neat way to expand the camera’s functionality without needing to redesign the network or add a separate audio device.
