The AXIS M4216‑V from the M42 Series is a sleek indoor dome camera delivering up to 4 MP resolution in 4:3 format (or 3 MP in 16:9), paired with remote zoom and autofocus for installation flexibility. It delivers excellent image clarity even in low‑light via Lightfinder (down to ~0.18 lux color, ~0.03 lux B/W) and Wide Dynamic Range (up to approximately 110 dB) for high-contrast scenes.
Designed with a built-in Deep Learning Processing Unit (DLPU), it runs AXIS Object Analytics and other deep‑learning apps directly at the edge—supporting object detection (humans, vehicles), classification, tracking, counting, and loitering detection. It also includes AXIS Face Detector and tampering alarms for advanced forensic use.
For public viewing scenarios, the camera outputs full HD video via a built‑in HDMI port. It supports audio and I/O extension via Axis T61 Series interfaces for integration with external sensors or public announcement systems.

It supports AXIS Object Analytics and Face Detector apps that require license activation; licenses are tied to the device’s serial number and must be activated via a license key with compatible firmware.
Importantly, it does not support AXIS License Plate Verifier (Axis LPR). To use LPR you would need an Axis model designed for plate reading (e.g. Q‑series LPR camera). This device is not eligible and no verifier license applies.
