Eliminate weak Wi-Fi areas around your home or small office with the TP-Link TL-WA850RE Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender.
The TL-WA850RE connects wirelessly to an existing router and retransmits its 2.4GHz signal into areas where coverage is poor. Setup can be completed by pressing the WPS button on a compatible router followed by the RE button on the extender. Once configured, the extender can be relocated without having to repeat the setup process.
Five signal indicator lights show the strength of the connection between the extender and router, helping users choose an appropriate installation location. TP-Link recommends installing the unit where at least three signal lights are illuminated for suitable performance.
The integrated Ethernet port can connect a wired device such as a television, desktop computer, gaming console or network recorder to the wireless network. Settings and LED operation can also be managed through the TP-Link Tether app on compatible iOS and Android devices.
Please note that the TL-WA850RE is a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 4 extender. It does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 or gigabit Ethernet. Actual speed and coverage will depend on the existing router, building materials, interference, network traffic and placement.
