AXIS T6112 Mk II Audio and I/O Interface

The AXIS T6112 Mk II Audio and I/O Interface is designed to add a built-in microphone and digital input/output functionality to compatible Axis network cameras. It is ideal for Axis surveillance installations where audio capture, audio analytics, sensor inputs, alarm triggers, or external device control are required without adding a separate network endpoint.

Using Axis portcast technology, the T6112 Mk II transfers audio and I/O digitally over the network cable between the camera and the interface. This allows video and audio to be managed as one stream, helping simplify recording, live monitoring, and integration with video management software.

Add Microphone and I/O Functionality to Axis Cameras

The AXIS T6112 Mk II extends the functionality of compatible Axis cameras by adding a built-in microphone and I/O connectivity. This can be useful in environments where operators need audio-supported video surveillance, event verification, or the ability to trigger actions from connected external sensors or detectors.

Built-In Microphone for Audio Capture and Analytics

With its built-in microphone, the T6112 Mk II can support audio recording and audio analytics when used with compatible Axis cameras and software. This can help provide additional context during incidents, allowing security teams to better understand what is happening at a site beyond video alone.

Digital Input and Output for Alarm Integration

The digital input/output capability allows the interface to connect to external sensors, detectors, buttons, or other devices. These connected devices can be used to trigger alarms, start event-based recording, activate actions, or form part of a broader security response.

Speaker Support for Audio Clips

When connected to an external speaker, the AXIS T6112 Mk II can also allow audio clips to be played through the surveillance system. This may be useful for deterrence, announcements, operator response, or automated event-based messaging.

No Additional IP Address or VMS Licence Required

The AXIS T6112 Mk II integrates through the compatible Axis camera rather than operating as a separate IP device. Axis states that it can be integrated into video management software without requiring additional IP addresses or additional VMS licences.

Plug-and-Play Installation

The interface is designed for plug-and-play installation using a single Ethernet cable between the camera and the switch. This helps keep installation neat and efficient, especially when upgrading an existing compatible Axis camera with audio and I/O capability.
