Use Cases

  1. Industrial / Power Substation Monitoring
Excellent for places like power generation / distribution sites, refineries, factories, where heat anomalies (e.g. overheated equipment) need detection, plus visual confirmation and PTZ zoom to inspect details.

  2. Fire-Prone Areas
Locations at risk of fires (wood lots, chemical storage, transformer stations etc.), where both early thermal detection and smoke / fire detection features can trigger alarms before visible flames.

  3. Perimeter Security in Critical Infrastructure
Border fences, utility perimeters, airports, chemical plants etc., where intrusion detection under any lighting or weather, as well as visual identification, is required.

  4. Transport & Heavy Industry Environments
Rail yards, ports, mining operations etc., where conditions can be harsh, and both thermal and optical imaging are used to detect hazards, monitor operations, or detect persons/vehicles.

  5. Shift operations & Remote Sites
Remote unmanned installations where automatic alerts (temperature, intrusion) are needed; the optical zoom enables verification before dispatching personnel.

FAQs

Question Answer
What accuracy can I expect for temperature measurement? The device supports temperature measurement from -20 °C to 550 °C and the accuracy is ±2 °C or ±2%.
Can it detect fire or smoke before flames are visible? Yes, it includes fire detection algorithms and smoke detection. Thermal imaging helps detect hotspots early; the camera’s sensors + alerts can help trigger actions before flames become visible.
How good is low-light optical performance? Quite good: very low lux requirements (~0.05 colour, ~0.01 B/W) with the optical module; plus WDR of 120 dB helps with contrast in challenging lighting.
What is the zoom capability and field of view? Optical zoom is 32×; wide field of view of ~58.8° × 34.4° (optical, at wide end) down to narrow view ~2.18° × 1.2°. Thermal zoom is digital (×2, 4, 8).
How far can it see / detect objects reliably? The VCA (vehicle/people classification) detection ranges are approx. 80 m for people, 240 m for vehicles under good conditions.
Does it work in harsh, outdoor environments? Yes. Rated for a wide temperature range (~-40 °C to +70 °C), IP66, has surge and lightning protection, weather-proofing.
What kinds of alarms / intelligent functions are included? Perimeter protection (line crossing, intrusion etc.), temperature exception alarm, fire detection, smoke detection, smart tracking and linking between thermal/optical views.
Can the camera stay on its preset or patrol route if power cycles? Yes; it supports features like power-off memory, which allows returning to presets / patrol routes after interruptions.
