Product SKU: Akuvox R25K
Product Overview
The Akuvox R25K is a compact SIP video door phone designed for secure, reliable visitor calling and door access control at residential and commercial entrances. Featuring an ultra wide-angle camera with Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), it helps deliver clearer visitor identification across challenging lighting conditions such as bright daylight, shadows, and backlit doorways. With built-in two-way audio, PoE support for simplified installation, and a weather-resistant housing for outdoor use, the R25K is a practical choice for modern intercom and access control systems where space, visibility, and durability matter.
Why Choose the Akuvox R25K
The Akuvox R25K is ideal when you want strong entrance coverage without installing a bulky door station. Its ultra wide-angle view reduces blind spots, helping you see more of the entry scene in one frame—useful for shared entrances, foyers, and narrow walkways. WDR improves image clarity when visitors are standing in bright sunlight or when the background is much brighter than the foreground. SIP integration supports flexibility across many intercom and VoIP environments, while PoE reduces cabling complexity. Combined with outdoor-rated protection and multiple access-control interfaces, the R25K delivers dependable performance for everyday entry management.
Key Capabilities
Ultra Wide-Angle Entrance Coverage
The wide field of view helps capture more of the doorway area, reducing blind spots and improving awareness of visitors, deliveries, and activity near the entry point. This is especially useful for tight spaces like apartment lobbies, side gates, and narrow corridors where conventional cameras may miss key details.
Clearer Imaging in High-Contrast Lighting
WDR helps balance bright highlights and dark shadows, improving visibility when a visitor stands in front of a bright background or when the entry is shaded. This results in more usable footage and clearer facial detail across typical day-to-day lighting challenges.
Two-Way Audio Communication
Built-in microphone and speaker support real-time conversation with visitors at the door. This enables faster visitor screening, clearer delivery instructions, and improved safety—without needing to open the door or rely on separate audio equipment.
SIP Integration for Flexible System Design
SIP-based connectivity helps the R25K integrate into a range of intercom and VoIP environments. This flexibility is valuable for multi-tenant sites or commercial installs where door calls may need to route to indoor monitors, desk phones, or other SIP endpoints.
PoE Installation & Outdoor Durability
Power over Ethernet allows power and network data to run over a single cable, simplifying wiring and reducing installation time. A weather-resistant housing supports reliable outdoor use, making it suitable for exposed entrances and gate posts where conditions can change.

Key Features
-
Compact door station design: A space-efficient footprint makes it easier to mount on narrow door frames, gate posts, and tight entry areas while still providing full intercom and access control functionality for everyday use.
-
Ultra wide-angle camera view: The wide viewing angle captures more of the approach and doorway area, helping you see visitors and surrounding context without needing additional cameras at the same entry.
-
Wide Dynamic Range (WDR): Improves image usability in difficult lighting such as strong backlight, bright sunlight, or shaded porches—helping you maintain clearer identification and more consistent video quality.
-
Two-way audio intercom: Enables clear communication with visitors for screening, delivery coordination, and safer access management, supporting quick decisions without opening the door.
-
Access control interfaces: Supports practical door release control via relays and inputs, allowing integration with electric locks, exit buttons, sensors, or other access hardware used in residential and commercial installs.
-
PoE-supported connectivity: Simplifies installation by reducing cabling, helping create a cleaner, more reliable deployment—particularly helpful in multi-unit buildings and retrofit projects.

FAQs
- Does the Akuvox R25K work as a standalone door station?
The R25K can operate as the primary door station in an entry system, providing video calling and door control from a single compact unit. In most installations it pairs with an indoor monitor, SIP endpoint, or a broader intercom platform so calls can be answered and doors unlocked conveniently. System behaviour will depend on how it is configured and what endpoints it is connected to.
- Is it suitable for outdoor installation?
Yes—its weather-resistant housing is designed for outdoor entrance environments. For best long-term performance, install it where it is protected from direct water blasting and ensure cable entry points are sealed properly. Good mounting practice, stable network cabling, and correct PoE provisioning will also help keep the system reliable over time.
- Why is an ultra wide-angle view helpful on a door station?
A wide field of view helps you see more of the entry scene—such as a visitor standing off-centre, a parcel placed near the door, or multiple people arriving together. This reduces blind spots and can improve security decision-making, especially at narrow entrances where conventional door station cameras may miss the surrounding context.
- What does WDR do in everyday use?
WDR improves image clarity in difficult lighting, such as when a visitor is standing in front of bright daylight, or when the entry is shaded while the background is bright. Without WDR, faces can appear too dark or washed out. With WDR, the camera balances bright and dark areas so the image is more usable for identification.
