Use Chrome/Edge With the IE Tab Extension (Recommended)

1. Install IE Tab

• Open Chrome or Edge.

• Go to the Chrome Web Store → search “IE Tab”.

• Install and allow the extension.

2. Activate IE Mode

• After installing, click the IE Tab icon next to your address bar.

• It will open a new browser tab running an embedded Internet Explorer engine.

3. Enter Your NVR / Camera IP Address

Type your device’s IP:

(or whatever your recorder’s IP is)

4. Log In and Allow the Plugins

• The system may ask to install the WebComponents plugin.

• Allow/Install if prompted.

• Refresh the page inside the IE Tab.

5. View Live View

Live View, Playback, and Configuration pages will now work fully and consistently.

Why IE Tab Works

Hikvision’s older firmware uses:

• NPAPI plug-ins

• ActiveX controls

These only run inside an Internet Explorer rendering engine.
IE Tab bundles that engine inside Chrome/Edge → so Live View loads instantly.
