Outdoor cameras are exposed to the elements, which can cause fog, condensation, or dirt build-up on lenses. This reduces image quality and leaves your system vulnerable when you need it most.
To prevent fogging, choose cameras with weatherproof housings (IP66 or IP67 rated). Install them under eaves or with a sun/rain hood for added protection. Regular cleaning with a microfiber cloth will keep dirt and water spots at bay.
For areas prone to condensation, apply an anti-fog spray or install silica gel packs inside housings. Spiders and insects are another issue — using repellent sprays around cameras (not directly on the lens) helps reduce webbing and motion-triggered false alarms.
Routine maintenance is key. By keeping lenses clear, your CCTV system will always capture crisp, reliable footage.
